JACKSONVILLE – USC Upstate recorded eight hits including two home runs to top North Florida softball, 6-1 on Saturday afternoon. Game 2 was moved to Sunday due to weather in the area.

- North Florida got on the board with a solo shot from Dominica Cocuzza in the second inning. It was her first of the season and one of two hits for the Ospreys on the day.
- Upstate tied the game in the next inning on a hit back to the pitcher.
- In the fifth, the Spartans then went out front 4-1 as Logan Morris hit a three-run homer.
- USC Upstate then extended its lead in the seventh when Brittany Case hit another home run with a runner on to go up 6-1.
- Junior Navia Penrod was the other Osprey to record a hit and she stole second, but was stranded on base.
- In the circle, Christina Biggerstaff tossed a complete game with two hits, no walks and eight strikeouts.
- For the Ospreys, Morgan Blourne went 4.1 innings with six hits, four walks, while striking out five. Amanda Blanchard came in relief for 2.2 innings with just two hits, one walk and one strikeout.
