Blake Voyles had two of the three UNF runs driven in.
-
Frank German threw a career-high 9.0 innings in a no decision as he struck out eight, while allowing one earned run. German set a season-high with 116 pitches thrown.
- German has had at least seven strikeouts in at least eight straight starts.
-
Jay Prather extended his reached base streak to 25 in a row with his seventh inning single that tied the game at three for the Ospreys.
-
Chris Berry and Murphy extended their on base streaks to 17 in a row.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Stetson got on the board with a pair of runs in the opening inning as it took advantage of a pair of Osprey errors to take a 2-0 lead.
- Both pitchers locked in over the next five innings as they combined to only allow three baserunners during that stretch.
- The Hatters added a solo homer in the top of the sixth to extend their lead to 3-0.
- In the seventh, Board got the Ospreys going with a leadoff bunt single as Murphy followed with a single thru the left side.
- Voyles then hit a double to the right center field gap to score Board and Murphy to cut UNF's deficit to one, 3-2.
- Prather quickly followed with an RBI single to make it 3-3.
- The offense stayed quiet once again until the 11th when the Hatters turned a leadoff single into a go ahead run that gave the Hatters a 4-3 victory.
- UNF did get runners to second and third before the Hatters closed the door on the game.
