JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The third inning proved costly as Memphis topped the North Florida baseball team, 7-5, in the weekend finale on Sunday afternoon at Harmon Stadium.
LEADING OFF
- Tanner Murphy had his 13-game hitting streak snapped, but has a hit in all but two games for the Ospreys this season.
- Chris Berry, Rey Gonzalez and Max Law all had two hits for UNF in the game.
- Six of the nine Osprey starters produced a hit.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Memphis scored in the first inning on a fielding error before Cale Hennemann extended the lead with an RBI groundout.
- Gonzalez tied the game at 2-2 in the second inning with a home run to right field that drove home Jay Prather.
- The Tigers jumped out to a 7-2 lead in the third inning with five runs on six hits.
- In the fourth, Chris Berry closed the gap with a single to right center that scored Gonzalez.
- Alex Hendricks ended the scoring in the sixth when he came home on a wild pitch.
