JACKSONVILLE – North Florida slipped to Notre Dame, dropping both games in the doubleheader, on a chilly evening at the UNF Softball Complex.

TOP PERFORMERS
- Sophomore Kayla McGory as well as juniors Navia Penrod and Dominica Cocuzza each recorded two hits on the night.
- McGory also earned two walks with one stolen base.
- Sophomore pitcher Morgan Blourne tossed her first complete game of the season in game one.
- Sydney Matzko threw her 12th full game with eight hits, three runs - just one earned - and two strikeouts. She moves to 7-8 on the season.
GAME 1 CAPSULE
- North Florida mustered just two hits against freshman pitcher Alexis Holloway who struck out 10 in the win.
- Blourne held the Irish off the bases until the sixth inning. She gave up just four hits in the opening five frames.
- In the sixth, Notre Dame opened with a single and back-to-back fielder's choice bunts to load the bases. The Irish then hit consecutive sac flies to go up 2-0.
- The Irish closed out the seventh with two more runs on three hits and an error for the 4-0 lead.
- Holloway went the distance, walking five in addition to her 10 strikeouts. Her two hits given up were the first in 10 innings.
- Blourne finished with eight hits, one walk, two strikeouts and three earned runs.
GAME 2 CAPSULE
- The Ospreys stranded 11 runners on base in game two of the night.
- Notre Dame did not waste time as the Irish went ahead, 1-0, on an RBI single from Morgan Reed in the first.
- North Florida answered back in the second when freshman Taylor Scott came home on a throwing error from the Irish.
- The score was knotted for one inning before Notre Dame had another RBI single to go up 2-1.
- UNF's best chance to score came in the fifth when it loaded the bases, but Irish pitcher Katie Beriont got the ground out the end the threat.
- In the sixth, Notre Dame added to its lead again for the final score.
- Holloway came back in the game to get six straight outs to earn her first save of the year.
