JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The North Florida baseball team took the weekend series against Fairfield with a 6-1 victory on Sunday at Harmon Stadium.
LEADING OFF
- The Ospreys are 3-1 when playing teams in a weekend series. UNF is also 4-0 on Sunday games.
- Mac Wilson has reached safely in every game for the Ospreys this year.
- Tanner Murphy extended his hitting streak to nine-straight and has a hit in every game but one this season.
- Austin Drury collected his first win of the season throwing 7.0 innings with four strikeouts.
- UNF had five players with a multi-hit game, while James Fitzpatrick went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBIs including a home run.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Stags plated their only run of the game in the second inning off an RBI single to right field by Giacomo Brancato.
- In the fifth inning, Abraham Sequera tripled down the right field line that brought in Fitzpatrick to tie the game.
- Dalton Board then doubled down the right field line that pated Sequera to give the Ospreys the 2-1 lead.
- Murphy later singled up the middle and drove in Board to extend the lead.
- Fitzpatrick homered to left field off the scoreboard in the sixth inning to widen the gap at 5-1.
- UNF ended its scoring in the seventh inning when Board came home on a Fairfield error.
