Top Performers
- Junior Navia Penrod went 2-for-4 in the opening game against Louisville with a double and two runs knocked in.
- Sophomore Kayla McGory had two of the three Osprey hits in the 2-0 loss to Butler.
GAME CAPSULES
Game 1
- The Ospreys got the offense going in the third with three runs, starting with Penrod singling through the left side to bring home Rindy Bryant.
- Dominica Cocuzza continued the offense with an RBI-single to bring home Penrod before a Tiffany Lower sacrifice fly made it 3-0.
- The Cardinals quickly responded in the fourth with three runs of their own.
- In the bottom of the fourth, Penrod put the Ospreys back out in front with an RBI-double that again scored Bryant to put UNF up 4-3.
- Louisville was not finished though as the Cards hit two RBI singles to bring in a pair of runs and take the 5-4 win.
Game 2
- Just three Ospreys made it into scoring position thanks to the solid pitching performance from Butler's Gabbi Schnaiter who scattered three hits in the contest.
- UNF had its best chance in the third when the Ospreys got bases loaded, but Schnaiter got the foulout to get out of it.
- Butler got on the board in the opening inning after a dropped fly ball allowed the Bulldogs to get a 1-0 lead.
- The Bulldogs added a second run in the sixth off of an RBI single to give Butler a 2-0 shutout victory.
