Cold Start Haunts Ospreys at Indiana

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The North Florida women's basketball team couldn't overcome a 21-3 Hoosier run in the first quarter as the Ospreys fell 75-52 on Sunday afternoon in Bloomington, Ind.
 
UNF falls to 2-2 while the Hoosiers are now 3-0 on the season.

Inside the 1st Quarter
The Ospreys opened the game with a 4-0 lead after Tolbert knocked down a jumper and connected on a pair of free throws. Indiana responded with a 21-3 run to end the quarter with a 21-7 advantage. The Hoosiers shot 44.4 percent from the field while limiting the Ospreys to 15.4 percent shooting.
 
Inside the 2nd Quarter
Despite a 14-point deficit, Arianna Emanuel-Wright and Janesha Green combined to score the first five points of the quarter to make it a 21-12 game. The Hoosiers outscored Ospreys 13-8 in the remaining eight minutes to take a 34-20 lead into the break. Indiana notched a 12-6 rebounding advantage while Gross tallied five points.
 
Inside the 3rd Quarter
UNF began the second half knocking down five of their first seven shots as the Ospreys trimmed the Hoosier lead down to 39-31 with 6:11 left after Tolbert made a free throw. The Hoosiers put an end to North Florida's comeback attempt with a 13-4 rally to end the quarter, pushing the score to 52-35 heading into the final 10 minutes.

The Hoosiers outscored UNF 23-17 to cap the 75-52 victory over the Ospreys. Indiana connected on 11 of their 14 shot attempts while the Ospreys shot 50 percent from the field, including three-of-five from three-point range.

"Today was another tough game, but we battled hard and made a couple of really good runs. We just couldn't match their size and physicality consistently enough.
