JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – North Florida women's basketball opened the home portion of the 2018-19 schedule with a dominant 99-40 win over Trinity Baptist on Tuesday afternoon in UNF Arena. The Ospreys had eight players in the scoring column, including six players in double-figures.

North Florida improved to 1-1 on the season while the contest was an exhibition for Trinity Baptist.

Inside the 1^st Quarter
UNF raced out to a quick 8-2 advantage over the Eagles after Adrienne Jackson and Dasha Eremeeva connected on back-to-back layups. The Ospreys shot 59.1 percent from the floor to take a 29-17 lead into the second quarter. Janesha Green and Jackson led the scoring attack with seven points apiece.
 
Inside the 2^nd Quarter
The Eagles trimmed the UNF lead down to 10 after Destiny Green knocked down a three-pointer to make the score 36-26 with 5:03 left in the first half. UNF capped the final five minutes of the half with a 12-3 run to hold a 48-29 advantage at the half. The Ospreys held TBC to 27.8 percent shooting from the floor while North Florida shot 46.7 percent. Freshman Lauren Gross and Jackson tallied five points, followed by Sara Idris with four points.
 
Inside the 3^rd Quarter
After surrendering 29 points in the first half, the Osprey defense shut down Trinity Baptist, limiting the Eagles to five points in the quarter. UNF shot 61.1 percent from the field to net 27 points with 13 points coming off TBC turnovers. After leading 56-34 with 7:29 left, the Ospreys held the Eagles scoreless and wrapped up the quarter with a 19-0 run.
 
Inside the 4^th Quarter
North Florida's defensive momentum carried into the fourth quarter as the Ospreys held the Eagles to six points in the final 10 minutes. Sophomore Rhetta Moore shot a perfect four-for-four from the field, including two-for-two from three-point line to lead UNF with 10 points.
