- North Florida women's basketball dropped a tough-fought battle, 66-48, against Jacksonville to open ASUN play on Saturday afternoon at UNF Arena.

The Short Story: North Florida jumped in front early, but Jacksonville pulled ahead in the second quarter and never looked back as UNF fell to the Dolphins for the 10th straight time.

OPENING TIP
  • Senior Keonna Farmer led the team in scoring for the eighth time with 13 points, while picking up two steals and six rebounds.
  • Freshman Tiffany Tolbert scored in double digits for the first time since December 10 with 13 points, while also dishing out two assists.
  • Off the glass, Adrienne Jackson pulled down a game-high seven boards, while also adding four points.

First Half Trends
  • North Florida dominated the opening 10 minutes, allowing just one JU field goal for the quarter and led 15-8.
  • In the second quarter, the Ospreys committed four miscues that allowed the Dolphins to go on a 10-2 run and take an 18-17 lead with 6:11 left to play.
  • UNF went out in front for the final time on Farmer's basket with 4:43 to play, but the Dolphins responded with a triple and lay up on the other end.
  • JU shot a blistering 58.3 percent in the second quarter as it held a 26-24 edge at halftime.

Second Half Trends
  • The Dolphins eventually took a 39-29 lead with 4:10 to play in the third quarter, but UNF then went on an 11-3 run to pull within 41-40.
  • As time ticked down, a three-point play from Kayla Gordon pushed the Dolphins back out in front 44-40 to end the frame.
  • The visitors again went on a 9-0 run to pull ahead by double digits where it stayed for the remainder of the game.
  • JU limited UNF to just eight points in the final period, which ties a season low set against Bethune-Cookman (11/30).

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE
  • Jacksonville shot 45 percent from the field, but was limited to 1-for-10 from long range, while UNF hit 40.8 percent. The Ospreys have shot above 40 percent in seven games, going 5-2 in those contests.
  • North Florida went 5-for-5 from the line, but the five attempts is a season-low.
  • Gordon led the way for JU with 16 points, while two others scored in double-figures.

North Florida now faces off with Kennesaw State on Saturday, Jan. 13 at 2 p.m. KSU dropped a two-point decision against Lipscomb at home to open ASUN play.
