JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida volleyball battled its crosstown rival, Jacksonville, but fell in four sets to the Dolphins to open ASUN play on Friday at UNF Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Dolphins jumped out to a 5-2 lead in the opening set, but UNF responded to cut it to a 9-8 deficit. Jacksonville answered quickly to open it back up to a 15-10 lead at the media timeout in the first stanza.
- Out of the break, North Florida went on a 4-1 run to close the gap to 16-14 and whittled the lead to 21-20, but Jacksonville battled through to the end to pick up the set, 25-22.
- In the second set, the Ospreys came out fast and jumped all over Jacksonville with a quick 6-1 lead before Jacksonville closed to 8-4. That was the closest it would get as UNF dominated to a 25-13 set two win.
- North Florida hit a match-high .333 in the set while limiting Jacksonville to .032.
- The third set featured five ties early on leading to a 9-9 tie following a Carina Hoff kill to tie the set.
- The visitors then rattled off a 10-3 run to take a 19-12 lead and it never looked back as it took a 2-1 lead into the break.
- Jacksonville opened on a 7-2 run before UNF tied the match at seven. It would be one of 23 ties for the rivals.
- In true rivalry fashion, the teams changed leads 12 times and got to eight set points, but Jacksonville took home the win with a final kill for a 32-30 score.
