UNF Closes Regular Season with River City Rumble

JACKSONVILLE - North Florida women's basketball closes out the regular season with the River City Rumble rematch on Saturday afternoon. The game is brought to you by Bank of England. The Ospreys will also honor four seniors prior to the game.

WHAT: North Florida (10-18, 3-10 ASUN) vs Jacksonville (21-7, 10-3 ASUN)

THE SERIES: Jacksonville leads 17-8
LAST TIME vs JACKSONVILLE: The Ospreys momentum was stifled early on, but UNF came back to outscore the home team 25-19 in the final frame. Senior Claire Ioannidis (16), Tesh Hanson (15) and Sierra Shepherd (13) all reached double figures. Jacksonville dominated off the glass, 41-25, to outscore the Ospreys 17-7 on second chance points, but UNF held the home team to just two triples, while hitting seven of its own.

NOTEABLES
  • North Florida is to win the second meeting between the two teams and get its first win against Jacksonville since 2013.
  • The Ospreys look to extend its home win streak to three after beating USC Upstate and NJIT last at home.
  • Both of North Florida's losses on the road were by four points. It was the fourth time this season that a loss has come at nine points or less.
  • Junior TESH HANSON ranks 3rd in the ASUN in shooting with a 50.0  percent clip. She has shot above .500 in 15 contests this season.

SIMONE BROWN recorded her third double-double of the season against Lipscomb with 17 points and 11 rebounds. She leads the team in double-doubles.
