Ospreys Look to Grab Win at Lipscomb on Monday

JACKSONVILLE - North Florida women's basketball continues its road trip to Nashville as it faces off with Lipscomb on Monday evening.

THE SERIES: UNF leads 16-5
LAST TIME vs Lipscomb: - After outscoring UNF in the third quarter, the Bisons continued their hot play in the final frame and Loren Cagle capped the day with a basket with 2.4 seconds to play to give Lipscomb a 60-58 victory. Junior Simone Brown had her third 20-point performance of the season with a team-best 21 points to go with nine rebounds and four assists. It was just the second time this season that the Ospreys held a lead at half and dropped the game.

NOTEABLES
  • North Florida is looking to avenge its home loss to Lipscomb back on January 23. The Bisons got hot in the fourth quarter and took the win.
  • The Ospreys have not won on the road since January 16 at USC Upstate. On the season, only two of North Florida's 10 wins have come on the road.
  • The win against USC Upstate is the first-ever 3OT game played in UNF Division I history. It was also the first 3OT game in ASUN play since February 10, 2005.
  • Junior TESH HANSON ranks 3rd in the ASUN in shooting with a 50.0  percent clip. She has shot above .500 in 15 contests this season. 
  • UNF is looking to beat its 3-11 mark in ASUN from a year ago.
  • North Florida had six players in double figures in its overtime win against USC Upstate. It is the sixth time this year with four or more.
  • For the second straight season, North Florida recorded two straight conference wins. Prior to that, the Ospreys had back-to-back ASUN wins in 2013.
  • UNF had a season-high 8 blocks vs USC Upstate and NJIT. The Ospreys have recorded three or more blocks in 22 of 26 games played this season.  
  • After not scoring in double figures for three straight games, senior Claire Ioannidis put up double digits in three straight contests.
  • Prior to NJIT and Lipscomb, UNF had not lost a game after leading at halftime. The Ospreys are now 7-3 this season when leading at half and 9-4 under coach Gibbs.

ON THIS DAY
The Ospreys are struggle on the 20th of February as the squad owns a 2-6 mark on this date. UNF last played in 2016 against Upstate on Feb. 20. 

LONG RANGE STREAKING
The Ospreys have made at least one 3-pointer in 59 consecutive games dating back to 2/25/15 when FGCU held them without a longball (0-8). North Florida ranks third in the ASUN with 159 triples.

GOTTA GET THE BOARD
North Florida grabbed a season-low 21 rebounds at Kennesaw State. The Ospreys are 3-13 when getting outrebounded.

North Florida closes out the regular season with River City Rumble foe Jacksonville on Saturday at 1 p.m. Prior to the game, the Ospreys will celebrate its senior class.
