SAY WHAT
"This was a great team win! We got an added punch from our bench today that helped us overcome a very sloppy start. After taking the lead, we did a good job responding to their runs and made the adjustments we needed to make in the second half." -Head Coach Darrick Gibbs

GAME CAPSULE
First Half Trends
  • It was a slow start for the Ospreys who were down 11-2 with 5:44 on the clock before going on a 14-5 run pushing the UNF ahead 15-14 at the quarter break.
  • Florida A&M tied it two times in the early goings of the second quarter, but a three-point from Jackson with 4:24 remaining in the stanza gave the Ospreys a lead it never gave up.
  • UNF eventually took a 38-34 lead into halftime.

Second Half Trends
  • North Florida started the second half on a 10-4 run to take a double figure lead at 48-38 thanks to back-to-back triples from Jackson.
  • It was short lived though as Florida A&M went on an 8-0 run to close the lead to 48-46, but it was as close as the Rattlers would get as North Florida eventually pulled ahead by 15, and took a 65-50 lead into the final quarter.
  • The home team tried to make a comeback as it got to within nine twice in the final frame, but North Florida fended FAMU off each time to grab the win.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE
  • UNF outscored the hosts in each quarter except for the fourth.
  • After Florida A&M held a 19-18 edge off the glass at halftime, North Florida went on to own the 36-30 advantage for the game. It is just the third time this season that the Ospreys owned the margin.
  • Ta'Kyla Austin was the only other Osprey to make a three-pointer as she went 1-for-3 from long range and totaled seven points.
