HILLSIDE, N.J. – The North Florida men's soccer team picked up its first point in the ASUN Conference with a 1-1 tie in double overtime against NJIT on Sunday afternoon at Kean University.
The Ospreys went to 1-9-2, 0-3-1 in the ASUN, while the second-placed Highlanders boast an 8-6-3, 3-1-1 record.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Ospreys had a corner kick from the left side of the field. Nunez sent in the cross that found Smoak on the back post who headed in his third goal of the season.
- Juanes Fajardo generated back-to-back saves for the Ospreys before the nation's leading goal scorer, Guirassy, rifled a shot from the 18-yard box that found the back of the net for the 16th time.
- In the 75th minute, Guirassy tried to chip UNF goalie down the middle before Fajardo made the save to keep the game tied.
- The Highlanders took a total of four shots in the two overtime periods, while the Ospreys generated three.
GAME NOTES
- The evenly matched game saw UNF take 15 shots with four on goal, while NJIT produced 13 shots with five on goal.
- The Highlanders held the corner kick advantage at 10-9.
- Fajardo generated four saves in the game.
- With the tie, the Ospreys snapped a six-game losing streak, their longest since 2012.
