DeLAND, Fla. - A slow second quarter for North Florida women's basketball gave Stetson the momentum it needed to finish out the game as the Hatters grabbed the 68-44 win.

The Short Story: Stetson outscored UNF 19-9 in the second quarter and never looked back as it took the 68-44 victory on Saturday afternoon.

OPENING TIP
- Sierra Shepherd was the lone Osprey in double figures with 12 points. She also added two assists and two blocks.
- Simone Brown was close to a double-double with 8 points, 9 rebounds as well as three assists and two steals.
- Breana Bey had a game-best 17 points for Stetson with seven rebounds.
- Brittney Chambers tallied 15 points, while McKenna Beach had 10.
- UNF had to switch its starting line up with the injury of Tesh Hanson. Jaiveonna Norris made her first start.

First Quarter Trends
- It was a tight game through the opening minutes of the game with Stetson owning a 10-6 lead at the media timeout.
- Out of the break, Simone Brown came down the floor with five straight points to put UNF out front, 11-10, but it was the final points of the frame for the Ospreys.
- Stetson scored the next seven to lead 17-13 after one.  
Second Quarter Trends
- The Hatters opened the quarter on a 13-1 run until Sierra Shepherd pulled back for a triple to put a bucket up for UNF.
- Stetson then went on a 6-0 stretch to take its biggest lead of the game, 36-17.
- Shepherd and Jackson scored the next two buckets for North Florida, while holding Stetson without a basket for the final 2:51 of the frame.
- It was not enough to overcome the deficit as Stetson took a 36-22 edge into half time.
- At the half, Stetson owned a 21-9 edge off the glass including nine offensive boards leading to 12 second-chance points.

Third Quarter Trends
- It took the teams more than four minutes to find the basket as the first point of the quarter was on a Jaiveonna Norris free throw.
- Breana Bey hit a basket for Stetson at 5:59 to start a 10-5 run for the home team.
- UNF made a pair of free throws to stop the threat, but the Hatters answered on the other end with a jumper from Bey as time expired.
Fourth Quarter Trends - A 9-3 run from UNF to open the fourth got the Ospreys to within 57-41, but that was the closest it would be.
- With the score at 59-41 with 5:02 to play, the Ospreys kept the Hatters off the board for more than two minutes until Bey ended the scoreless streak.
- Shepherd hit a triple on the other end of the floor to bring the game back to under a 20-point deficit, but a triple from Brianti Saunders and a make from Myka Johnson-Matthews.pushed Stetson to its biggest lead where it stayed to take the game.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE
- Stetson grabbed 38 rebounds to the Ospreys' 22 including 15 offensive boards to UNF's 3.
- UNF shot 39 percent for the game, while Stetson hit 43 percent.
- The Ospreys once again struggled from the line as they went 5-for-11 from the line.
- The Hatters grabbed 22 points off of 20 UNF miscues.
