JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The North Florida Softball team dropped the final game of their conference series against Lipscomb 16-0 Sunday at the UNF Softball Complex.
The Ospreys (17-21, 5-4 A-Sun) earn the series win through sweeping yesterday's doubleheader and are now in a three-way tie for the conference lead with FGCU and Kennesaw State, while the Bisons (21-20, 6-6 A-Sun) are in sixth place.
Lipscomb broke the stalemate in the top of the third inning with three runs on a RBI single and a two-RBI double.
The Bisons added to their lead in the top of the fifth, when Brittany Elmore tripled to right field and scored on an overthrow at the third base bag, making the score 4-0.
Lipscomb broke the game open in the top of the seventh, scoring 12 runs on seven hits to make the score the eventual final of 16-0.

Katie Mandigo and
Shelby Duncan, as well as sophomore
Ashley Niesman, notched hits on the day.
North Florida is back in action next weekend for a pivotal A-Sun series at Jacksonville in the River City Rumble. Saturday will feature a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m., while Sunday will have the single game scheduled for 1 p.m.
