JACKSONVILLE -- The North Florida women's golf team carded their lowest round of the tournament in Tuesday's final round of the UNF Collegiate at Jacksonville Golf and Country Club en route to earning a ninth-place finish in the 17-team field. Senior Mary Dawson matched her career best finish earning a tie for third to lead the Ospreys.
UNF fired a final round 301 to finish with a 54-hole total of 913, marking the squad's best tournament score in the three year history of the event. Dawson posted a final round 1-over 73 in finishing tied for third with a 2-over total of 218. The performance was the best of the season for Dawson and also marked her fifth career Top 10 showing.
Senior Kelly Aylwin joined Dawson among the Top 20 individuals, finishing tied for 19th at 226 after a final round 76. Senior Emelie Alpe posted her best round of the event, 75, on Tuesday to finish tied for 58th at 235 while senior Belinda George also recorded her best round of the week, 77, to finish tied for 81st (244). Junior Nathalie Nygren filled out the Osprey lineup by tying for  69th (239) after a final round 82.

No. 36-ranked Houston claimed the team title for the second straight year after firing a tournament record round 288 (E) on the final day. Houston finished with a record three-round score of 878, topping No. 25 Texas at 888 by 10 strokes. Campbell and College of Charleston tied for third at 900 with Chattanooga rounding out the Top 5 at 904.
The Cougar duo of Megan Thothong and Emily Gilbreth shared the individual medalist crown after posting totals of 1-over 217. Thothong was the defending medalist in the event and matched her tournament record total along with Gilbreth this year.
North Florida will take nearly two weeks off before returning to competition on Mar. 20-22 at the MSU Spring Invitational hosted by Morehead State in Sorrento, Fla. (Red Tail Golf Club).
