JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - North Florida women's tennis begins spring break in Mobile, Ala. as it plays No. 41 South Alabama in the Jaguar Classic at noon on Sunday. Saturday's match against VCU, originally scheduled for Saturday at noon EST, was cancelled due to impending weather.

Ranked No. 41 in the latest ITA poll, South Alabama is 10-5 on the season and looks to bounce back from two straight losses for the second time this season. Freshman Alexandria Stiteler is ranked No. 47 by the ITA and looks to extend her 11-match winning streak, with eight coming in straight sets. Laura Matuskova is currently riding a nine-match win streak and has played in spots 4-6. Last spring, the Jaguars took home a 4-2 victory against the Ospreys in Jacksonville. The last time UNF played in Mobile, the Ospreys grabbed a 6-1 win.

The Ospreys are coming off a tough 4-3 loss to former A-Sun rival, ETSU, on Thursday. UNF grabbed the doubles point, but only grabbed two wins in singles as the Bucs took the match. Luise Intert currently leads UNF in dual matches with a 4-2 mark with a 3-0 record in the No. 4 position. Michelle Valdez had a team-best 14 total singles wins and is 3-3 in dual matches. As a doubles team, Noemi Hemmerich and Quetzali Vazquez have a team-best 11-10 mark overall, while Intert and Rafaela Gomez are 5-2 in duals.

After its Alabama trip, UNF returns to Jacksonville to host Southern Illinois on Saturday, March 19 at 11 a.m.
