Match Summary
The Jacksonville defense survived a barrage of North Florida shots and goalkeeper Patrick Harding was brilliant in goal for the second-straight game. He made seven saves and the highlight of his night came late in the first half when he denied an Osprey penalty kick opportunity. He dove to his left and punched away freshman Mikey Connell's attempt at the lower right 90.

For the game the Ospreys dominated the shot count, outshooting the Dolphins 21-3 including a 14-2 advantage in the second half. The Ospreys held Jacksonville without a shot for more than 63 minutes.

The Dolphins took advantage of back-to-back corner kick opportunities in the opening minutes of the game. Stephan Spicer got a head on a second ball and touched it to the feet of Igor Ferreira who was able to extend for the eventual game-winner. The goal was his third of the 2016 season.

Fifth-seeded Jacksonville will now go on to face FGCU in Fort Myers next Saturday for the ASUN Championship. It is the first time since 2008 the Dolphins are playing for the league title.

From Coach Marinatos
On Jacksonville
"We have to credit Jacksonville and Mauricio (Ruiz) on getting his team ready in back-to-back games. They defended their hearts out and kept us off the scoreboard. Patrick (Harding) was incredible for the second game in a row and made the key penalty kick save in the first half."
On the loss
"It's heartbreaking to utterly dominate the game like that with all the opportunities and not get a goal. I thought we possessed the ball for the majority of the game but sometimes that is soccer. They put themselves in a perfect scenario with the early goal and defended their hearts out."
On the Seniors
"The legacy of this senior class will go unmatched for a long time. This group of guys has lifted this program to new heights. A new regular season win record, the first (UNF) team to be nationally ranked, the highest RPI ranking in school history, the list goes on. These guys have been to three finals and have back-to-back regular season titles to their names, that's hard to do. It starts from the leadership and Jay Bolt, our captain. His tenacity, leadership and skill set are fit for the next level. The future is bright for this program because of all of them."
On what's next
"As their coach, I hope the committee takes into consideration our schedule and the quality wins we put together. It would be great to see our league get multiple bids to the NCAA Tournament but that's out of our hands, we'll see how everything shapes out."
