OPENING TIP
- The 2016-17 squad has now surpassed last year's non-conference win total. UNF has not had five wins to start the season since the Ospreys final year in Division II (2005).
- Junior Sierra Shepherd scored a game-high 16 points and added seven assists on the night.
- Juniors Maiya Rumph and Tesh Hanson each had 10 caroms to help the Ospreys outrebound their opponent 47-39 and score 18 second chance points to the Cougars' seven.
- Scoring in double figures for the eighth straight game, senior Claire Ioannidis tallied up 11 points along with five assists.
- It was the Ospreys first road win of the season and just third under second-year head coach Darrick Gibbs.

GAME TRENDS
- UNF got out to a 12-point lead with a 16-4 advantage at 3:25. The Cougars then went on a 10-0 run that stretched over the final three minutes before Tesh Hanson laid in a bucket with a second left on the clock to make it an 18-14 lead heading into the second.
- It was a slow start for both teams in the second as the Ospreys went without a basket for more than five minutes thanks to six turnovers. Charleston did not fare much better as they hit one basket and a free throw before going without scoring until 3:53 left on the clock.
- Claire Ioannidis capped a 7-2 run as time ran out to give UNF a 31-21 lead heading into halftime.
- The third quarter saw the Cougars outscore the visitors 14-13, but UNF still held a 44-35 lead.
- The home team shrank the Ospreys lead to 44-41 before a Shepherd triple and a short-range jumper from Hadley Kiefer swung momentum back to UNF.
- Jaiveonna Norris hit back-to-back triples, her first of the season to push UNF back to double figures where it would stay for the game.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE
- Norris added 10 points thanks to her first treys of the season and scored in double figures for the second straight game. She also pulled down six rebounds.
- It was the first time UNF shot less than 40 percent and won a contest.
- North Florida led from start to finish for the first time this season and it was the first time holding an opponent to zero three-pointers.

- For the first time this season, UNF had two players in double-figure rebounds.
- The seven points for Charleston in the 2nd were a season-low against UNF in that frame.

SAY WHAT...
"Winning on the road is tough and it is exciting to see how we responded to the challenge. Defensively we did a solid job executing our game plan. We had multiple players step up and make big plays on the offensive end, but none more important than Jaiveonna's big three-pointers late in the 4th quarter. This is a fun group to coach and we will continue to keep learning and growing as a team." -Head Coach Darrick Gibbs

NEXT UP
- The Ospreys finish up a five-game road swing away from UNF Arena against NC State on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in Raleigh, N.C. It will be the first meeting between the two teams.
