BOCA RATON, Fla. – The North Florida Softball team fell to both Princeton and FAU in their second day of action at the FAU Invitational in Boca Raton, Fla.
The Ospreys (9-5) lost to Princeton 6-0 in the afternoon game before losing to FAU 8-4 in the nightcap.
In the first game of the day, the Ospreys only mustered five hits and stranded nine runners on base.
In the night game against host FAU, the Ospreys started off with a 3-0 lead through two innings. Thanks in part to two RBI singles and a fielding error at second base, which allowed senior
Kelly Wilson to go from second to home.
FAU evened the score at three in the bottom of the third with a two-RBI single and a RBI double.
Junior
Stacy McClelland took the lead back for the Ospreys in the top of the fifth with a solo shot over the center field wall.
FAU took the lead back for the game with a four-run fifth inning. The Owls took advantage of two errors and an illegal pitch to take a 7-4 lead, they added the eighth and final run of the game on a RBI single.
The Ospreys take on Princeton in the final game of the FAU Invitational tomorrow at 9 a.m.
