
UNF Men’s Tennis Hits the Road for A-Sun Matches

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The University of North Florida men's tennis team takes to the road for two Atlantic Sun matches in Georgia. UNF will face Kennesaw State on Friday, March 19 at 2 p.m. and on Saturday, March 20 the team will play Mercer at 11 a.m.
The Ospreys (12-4, 3-1 A-Sun) have won six of their last seven matches including a 6-1 win over Lipscomb in their last outing.
Junior Hleb Maslau has tallied a 13-3 overall singles record and is 4-0 in the league, playing primarily at No. 3. Freshman Mortiz Buerchner has posted a 7-2 overall record and is 3-1 in A-Sun play in the No. 1 singles. Senior Kurt Gattiker is 9-3 overall, playing primarily at No. 6.
KSU (5-9, 0-4 A-Sun) was selected to finish 10th in the 2010 Atlantic Sun Preseason Coaches' Poll. The Owls are on a four match skid and fell to Florida Atlantic, 7-0 in their last outing.
In the preseason poll Mercer (6-5, 0-2 A-Sun) was picked to finish seventh. The Bears defeated Presbyterian, 5-2 in their last outing.
Following the Georgia swing, the Ospreys will return home to face USC Upstate on Friday, March 26 at 10 a.m. On Saturday, March 27 the team will host Campbell at 1 p.m.
