Ospreys put national ranking on the line

UNF to face Florida Atlantic, Hofstra this weekend
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The University of North Florida men's tennis team - after receiving its first national ranking as a Division I program earlier this week - will put its new No. 68 designation to the test on Saturday afternoon at the UNF Tennis Complex when it takes on Florida Atlantic in a non-conference matchup. Match time is set for 12 p.m. at the UNF Tennis Complex.
UNF will then face Hofstra on Sunday at 11 a.m., also at home.
The Ospreys (2-2) split a pair of matches last week, opening with a 4-3 win over then-19th-ranked South Alabama on Friday before dropping a 4-3 heartbreaker at Troy on Saturday afternoon.
FAU and UNF squared off earlier this season at the UCF Fall Invitational in Orlando, with the Owls winning four of the six singles matches between the squads. FAU also participated in the UNF Fall Invitational in October.
UNF's Upcoming Schedule:

Sunday vs. Hofstra (UNF Tennis Complex), 11 a.m.

Who's Hot: Senior Eduardo Pereira has remained hot for the Ospreys, winning six straight singles matches overall, including a 4-0 mark in dual play, to improve his season record to 13-3. The Brazil native has also won three of his four doubles matches with partner Kurt Gattiker. Pereira was named the A- Sun Player of the Week on Friday, Feb. 15 ... Freshman Adrian Escarate has also caught fire of late, winning three straight matches in singles to improve his season record to 3-2.
UNF Notables: The Ospreys' last ranking by the ITA came in 2005 when the squad finished the season at No. 3 following its Division II national runner-up march ... the top of the UNF lineup has been strong in singles play, with the squad's top two positions combining to go 6-2 through four matches ... UNF is 3-1 in doubles play at the No. 2 position (Gattiker-Pereira), 2-1 at No. 3 (Escarate-Javier Ferrin) but 0-4 at No. 1 (Alejandro Argumedo-Yuiti Lopes).
