Box Score

BUIES CREEK, N.C. - The University of North Florida baseball team wrapped up a three-game sweep with a 7-3 win over Campbell on Saturday at Taylor Field to push its winning streak to four straight and seven out of its last eight.

UNF (23-28, 12-12 Atlantic Sun Conference) got a solid pitching performance from freshman LHP John Atteo, who scattered eight hits over eight innings pitched and allowed just one earned run. It was the third time this season Atteo was able to go eight, and he improved his record to a team-best 6-3.

Senior first baseman Jimmy Glanville tallied two RBIs at the plate and went 2-for-2 with two doubles. Senior Damon Olinto scored twice and went 2-for-4 with a double.

In contrast to Friday's offensive explosion where they used big innings to win, the Ospreys were steady in their run production. It was a four-inning stretch where UNF scored a total of five runs to break a 2-2 tie and go up 6-2.

The Ospreys got off to a quick start, putting across a run in the top of the first on Jon Dandridge's sacrifice fly that drove in Olinto, who reached on a double. UNF added another run in the top of the third on a sacrifice fly from Glanville that allowed redshirt freshman Mycal Jones to score.

Atteo battled out of a threatening second inning where Campbell led off with three straight singles, but he rolled up his sleeves and was able to get out of the inning with no Camels crossing the plate.

After a rocky third inning where the Camels scored two runs to tie the score, UNF broke the knot on an RBI infield single from freshman TJ Thompson, which allowed freshman Preston Hale to score. Chad Knight's sacrifice fly in the top of the fifth helped Dandridge to score before UNF added two in the top of the sixth.

Jones notched a sacrifice fly in the sixth and pushed Thompson across the plate. Glanville's double down the left field line drove home Olinto to cap off the scoring in the inning. UNF added its final run of the game in the top of the ninth when sophomore Brian Wilson tallied the Ospreys' fifth sacrifice fly of the game to drive home junior Travis Martin.

Sophomore Tyler Stohr finished out the game for UNF in the ninth, getting Campbell to ground into a game-ending double play. The Ospreys have now turned a double play in six out of their last seven games.

Dandridge and Hale extended their hitting streaks to eight games. With their 14 hits, the Ospreys have now collected at least 10 hits in eight straight contests.

UNF will march on through the home stretch with a two-game mid-week series at Ohio State on Tuesday and Wednesday. Tuesday's game against the Buckeyes is set to begin at 6:35 p.m. Live stats and audio will be available on UNFOspreys.com.
