Final Stats
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The
University of North Florida volleyball team wrapped up
Atlantic Sun competition on Saturday with a 3-0
defeat of Lipscomb. Game scores were 30-19, 30-28
and 30-26.
With the victory UNF wrapped up a third-place finish
in the A-Sun.
Amy Stroder led a group of three Lady Ospreys (16-
15, 7-2 A-Sun) in double figure kills with a match
high 15 in the winning cause. Emily Kohler followed
her with 13 kills, while Maegan Weisert finished with
12. Kohler hit .357 for the match to lead the Lady
Ospreys.
UNF won the opening game 30-19 behind four
Stroder kills. The Lady Ospreys also took advantage
of nine Lipscomb errors and held the Lady Bisons (13-
15, 6-3) to a 0.78 hitting percentage.
The Lady Ospreys took an early 13-7 advantage in
the second game, hitting a torrid .545 through the
first half of the game. Lipscomb battled back from
there and eventually grabbed the lead late in the
game before UNF scored eight of the last 11 points
of the game, winning it 30-28.
UNF led by as many as seven points in game three
before finally closing out the match with a 30-26
victory.
UNF's Jenna Thomas led all players with 45 assists,
while Tara Taylor had a match-high 29 digs. Alex
Scruggs led the Lady Bisons with 11 kills.
Although Atlantic Sun play is complete for UNF, the
Lady Ospreys do have a pair of non-conference
matches left against A-Sun foes Jacksonville and
Stetson. UNF and JU will square off Thursday in the
second SunTrust River City Rumble matchup on the
volleyball court this season. UNF won the first
meeting between the cross-town foes 3-1.
