KENNESAW, Ga. - Maegan Weisert tallied 15 kills and Allison O'Neill added 14 to lead the University of North Florida volleyball team to a 3-0 win over Kennesaw State on Friday night at the KSU Convocation Center (30-23, 30-25, 30-24).

The match was the conference opener for UNF (10-11, 1-0 A-Sun), which was predicted to win the league in a preseason vote of conference coaches. The match marked the conference home opener for KSU (1-15, 0-3 A-Sun), a first-year program.

UNF hit .309 for the match and tallied 48 kills, while KSU hit just .097 with only 29 kills and 20 errors. Jenna Thomas paced the UNF attack with 39 assists.

In game one, the Owls came out firing, jumping out to a quick 11-6 lead before UNF put together a 14-3 rally to forge ahead for good. Amy Stroder's back-to-back service aces tied the match at 12, and Weisert and O'Neill took over from there - each tallying three kills over the next nine points to give UNF a comfortable lead.

The Lady Ospreys never trailed in game two, racing out to a 10-3 lead before KSY tightened things up late. The Owls sliced their deficit to 27-25 and then committed three consecutive errors to give the Lady Ospreys the win.

In game three, UNF broke a 16-16 tie with three consecutive points and cruised to the finish to cap the sweep.

KSU's Jenny Black led the Owls with 10 kills.
