Box Score

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Junior Magen Wood lived up to her billing as the "Lady Osprey of the Match" on Tuesday night at UNF Arena, posting an impressive performance in UNF's 3-1 win over Flagler (30-15, 26-30, 30-19, 30- 19).

Wood tallied a match-high 14 kills, hit .545 and finished with nine total blocks to propel the Lady Ospreys (14-8) past the Saints (18-11) in a non- conference matchup that turned sloppy. Flagler finished with 40 attack errors and hit just .006, while UNF had 23 errors in winning its sixth straight. The Lady Ospreys did finish with a season-high 17 team blocks and hit .220.

"A win is a win, and we'll take it," UNF head coach Bryan Bunn said. "It is good to be at home, and we are definitely looking forward to Thursday night. I hope we play with more intensity against Florida Atlantic."

Tuesday night's match was the first a four-match homestand for UNF, which will conclude Atlantic Sun Conference play for UNF with matches against Florida Atlantic, Belmont and Lipscomb. FAU currently sits atop the A-Sun standings. The Lady Owls visit UNF Arena on Thursday afternoon at 5 p.m.

Against Flagler, UNF started off well enough, cruising to a win in game one behind four kills from Wood and 13 attack errors by the Saints. Flagler broke on top 1-0, but UNF rattled off six straight points to take command and never looked back.

In game two, it was Flagler that erased a 1-0 deficit with six straight points and never relinquished its lead. UNF trimmed its deficit to 19-18 but could never forge ahead as Flagler pulled away for the victory. In games three and four, UNF took control early, finishing the match off with an impressive .459 hitting percentage in the final game.

Emily Kohler added 12 kills and 12 digs for UNF, while Amy Stroder added 10 kills. Freshman setter Heather Kendrick finished with 47 assists, while Jenna Thomas tied a season high with 27 digs.

Jessica Pate was the only Saints players with double figures in kills, finishing with 14. Elizabeth Layfield added 16 digs and eight kills.
