Our trip to Nashville was interesting. This was the first time traveling to these conference opponents for our current team and staff.
Our assistant, Krista Carpenedo, is from the area, and we had a great pre-game meal at her mother, Trish Poole's house. We had a chance to eat home cooked food! Trish made us lasagna, salad and French bread.
We got to see many family pictures of the Pooles, including a year-by-year recap of Krista's youth. There were sweater vests and bangs – we love the 80s.
The girls also had a chance to relax and watch trashy talk shows. It was a good team bonding time where they had a chance to put their feet up as they talked and had a rare chance to play with Krista's 21-month-old daughter, Emmy, before the match.
It made being on the road feel more like playing at home.
