The University of North Florida volleyball team will conclude the 2009 season with a pair of home contests. On Friday, Nov. 13 the Ospreys will host Mercer in a 7 p.m. match followed by a 3 p.m. match against Kennesaw State at 3 p.m. on Saturday. Both matches will be in UNF Arena.

The University of North Florida will be broadcast on ASun.TV twice during the week of Monday, Nov. 9, through Sunday, Nov. 15, with home volleyball events. In addition, North Florida will host a swimming and diving meet and open the men’s and women’s basketball seasons.

The University of North Florida volleyball team posted nine more kills than Campbell, but the Camel's defense was strong as they picked up the 3-1 (25-11, 25-22, 20-25, 25-20) win in Atlantic Sun action on Saturday afternoon at the Pope Center in Buies Creek, N.C.

The University of North Florida volleyball team fell to Atlantic Sun opponent East Tennessee State on Friday night at Brooks Gym. With scores of 25-23, 26-28, 25-21, 25-16 the Bucs picked up the 3-1 win.

The University of North Florida volleyball team takes to the road for its final away matches of the 2009 regular season. The Ospreys will face East Tennessee State at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 6, in Brooks Gym before playing Campbell at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7, in the Pope Center.

Paige Pridgeon
Volleyball
Outside hitter Paige Pridgeon was named the 2009 Atlantic Sun Freshman of the Year.

Pridgeon averaged 3.12 kills per set, was second on the team in kills, and was the highest ranked freshman in the conference, eighth overall. She led the league in aces, with 50 on the season. Pridgeon finished seventh in the conference in points per set, averaging 3.70. On the defensive side, Pridgeon tallied 2.63 digs per set.

William Pearce
Men's Cross Country

Junior William Pearce finished on top for the men in the NCAA Regional Qualifier with a 63rd place finish in a time of 32:44.00.  This was the first time the Ospreys have competed in the NCAA Regionals.
