Men's Tennis Opener Time and Venue Change

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The University of North Florida men's tennis team will play its spring season opener against Georgia State on Saturday, Jan. 30, at 1 p.m. The match venue and time have been changed from Piedmont Park to the indoor facility at Peachtree City Center because of bad weather in the area.

The University of North Florida men’s tennis team will open the season on the road at Georgia State on Saturday, Jan. 30 at 11 a.m. before returning home for a pair of contests on Sunday, Jan. 31 to face Florida A&M and Bethune-Cookman at 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., respectively.

The University of North Florida men’s tennis team was picked to finish fourth in the 2010 Atlantic Sun Preseason Men’s Tennis Poll as voted on by the league’s head coaches. Freshman Daniel Sotomarino along with teammates junior Gleb Maslau and senior Kurt Gattiker are ranked in the recent ITA poll.

Men's Cross Country

Junior William Pearce finished on top for the men in the NCAA Regional Qualifier with a 63rd place finish in a time of 32:44.00. This was the first time the Ospreys have competed in the NCAA Regionals.

Paige Pridgeon OH#6

Volleyball

Outside hitter Paige Pridgeon was named the 2009 Atlantic Sun Freshman of the Year.

Pridgeon averaged 3.12 kills per set, was second on the team in kills, and was the highest ranked freshman in the conference, eighth overall. She led the league in aces, with 50 on the season. Pridgeon finished seventh in the conference in points per set, averaging 3.70. On the defensive side, Pridgeon tallied 2.63 digs per set.
